Man Killed By Police In South Jersey Identified, Details Released
Authorities have released details and identified the man killed by police on Saturday, Oct. 19in Burlington County. Officers responding to smoke coming from a Pemberton home on Woodland Avenue around 3:20 p.m., New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. They were notified that a man later identified as Marvin Taylor, 57, had a firearm and was in the backyard. Officers commanded Taylor to drop the weapon, as they positioned themselves in the wood-lined area behind the home. Firefighters were called to the Whispering Woods Development along Cedar Court in South Brunswick on reports of a smoke alarm going off around 6 a.m., police said. : Man Killed By NJ Transit Train Near Jersey Shore Station
A man died when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Red Bank, officials said. The pedestrian was hit by a southbound North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3241 at the Monmouth Street crossing at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The crossing is next to the Red Bank transit station. Man, 57, Riding E-Bike Dies In Atlantic City Crash: Police
An Atlantic City man was killed when his electric bicycle and a vehicle crashed, authorities said. Officers responded to the crash on the 100 block of North Maryland Avenue at around 12:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Police found the 57-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. Firefighters and paramedics tried to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Wildwood Woman, 75, Killed In Early Morning Garden State Parkway Crash: Troopers
A Wildwood woman died after an early morning crash on the Garden State Parkway in Port Republic, authorities said. Audrey McCash, 75, was killed in the crash on Saturday, Sept. 28, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 46.6 on the southbound side of the parkway at around 12:26 a.m. Investigators said a Subaru Outback went off the parkway and struck several trees. An officer was hospitalized after what was only described as an "overnight incident" in Rumson, a police union said. The officer was recovering at a hospital, the New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association posted on Twitter at 8:21 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.
