Route 1 Crash Bogs Down Lunchtime Traffic In Central Jersey: Njdot (Developing) A crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick caused lane closures and disrupted traffic during the midday commute, officials said. The crash on Route 1 North near Black Horse Lane shut down the right lane and shoulder of the two-lane roadway on Friday, Dec. 13, according to the state Department of Transportation. The crash was first reported at around 11:25 a.m. Authorities worked to clear the scene as delays built in the area. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes or prepare for slower travel. Maryland State Police ID MA, NJ Women Killed In Crash, Virginia Victim Airlifted To Hospital Two people were killed and a third was airlifted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash in Charles County, state police confirmed. On Thursday, police said that Norma Matthews, 81, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Virginia Licata, 86, of Blackwood, NJ, have been identified as the pair killed in a crash on July 24 that shut down Route 301 for hours.
