Navy Sailor Left Grieving Dog Sees Community Support After NJ Hit-Run Support is on the rise for a 25-year-old Atlantic County man and former US Navy sailor who was left with critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash, which also killed his dog. Syed Hoque and his dog, Duca, were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Absecon, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue, where Duca was tragically killed. He was taken into custody by 9 a.m., Evesham police said; Officers were at a home on Brookfield Drive as of 7:30 a.m. and all residents near the home were being sheltered in place. Six People Injured In Seven-Vehicle Crash In Central Jersey Six people were injured in a crash on a busy road in Monmouth County, authorities said. Holmdel police responded to the crash near the intersection of Route 35 and Laurel Avenue at around 1:17 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, the department said in a news release. Officers found seven vehicles involved with one vehicle smoking, as well as large amounts of oil and gas leaking into the road.
