$7.5M In Back Wages Paid To 865 Utility Workers Who Restored Power In NJ After Tropical Storm
The 865 utility workers who restored outages in New Jersey following Tropical Storm Isaias in August 2020 will be getting $7.5 million in back wages, state officials said. NJDOL Division of Wage and Hour Compliance investigators found that workers deployed by Pike Electric Inc. of Mount Airy, N.C., were paid less than the rate required by the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act during the recovery efforts. A nationwide recall of meat and poultry products over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria has been expanded to include 11,765,285 pounds. A ShopRite employee has detailed the situation the brought a major police presence to a New Jersey ShopRite on Saturday night, Oct. 12. A Lawnside ShopRite employee said a couple was arguing loudly around 6:50 p.m. The man was holding a knife to his female partner's stomach, the employee said. A Pennsylvania-based lab has been ordered to pay $7.3 to the state of New Jersey after overcharging New Jersey’s Medicaid program for urine drug testing services, officials said. Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories (ADL) in Bensalem violated Medicaid regulations when it charged Medicaid as much as $1,035 per drug test while charging other payers as little as $2.38 for the same test, New Jersey's State Comptroller's office (OSC) said citing an audit report. According to Stacker.com, Ho-Ho-Kus was named New Jersey's richest municipality with at least 1,000 people, citing the Census Bureau American Community Survey Five-Year Data.
