Man On Life Support After Being Struck By Vehicle In Elizabeth: Authorities A man is on life support after being struck by a vehicle in Elizabeth on Sunday, July 7. The man was struck at 2:40 p.m. at North Broad Street and Westfield Avenue, a spokesman for the city said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is on life support, a spokeswoman said. The driver stayed on the scene, a spokeswoman said.

Convicted NJ Burglar Bound For Federal Prison Following Elizabeth Shooting An ex-con who once left his cellphone behind after a home invasion in Woodbridge is headed to federal prison in connection with a shooting earlier this year in Elizabeth. Kevin Cordeiro, 34, of Elizabeth, pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Newark to being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition. Cordeiro was one of several men in masks who stormed a Woodridge home in 2008, beating a resident and his girlfriend, before fleeing empty-handed, authorities said at the time. Man Pleads Guilty To Beating Up Pregnant Bus Driver In Elizabeth A 39-year-old Union resident pleaded guilty to assaulting a pregnant NJ Transit bus driver, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.  Andre Dawson III attacked the woman around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 28 while the bus was traveling in Elizabeth at Broad Street and Westfield Avenue. The woman suffered bumps, cuts and bruises in the attack.
