Man Shot In Newark: Police A man was shot in Newark on the early morning of Sunday, Sept. 8, authorities said. At 4:38 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Washington Street and located the man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he is in stable condition, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.

1 Injured, Somerville Man Dead In Newark Shooting A 31-year-old Somerville man was killed and a 28-year-old man injured in a Newark shooting early Friday morning. The shooting occurred on the 200 block of Washington Street. Christopher Williams was rushed to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
