The quartet – one of them a former nurse convicted of raping a patient – apparently was headed back north after buying the drugs in Paterson, police said. Hawthorne Police Close Two Stores Violating Governor's Coronavirus Closure Order
Hawthorne police on Sunday closed two stores that they said were violating Gov. Phil Murphy's order that all non-essential businesses remain closed during the state's coronavirus state of emergency. A reported disturbance at the Jembro Store on Wagaraw Road brought police, who determined the incident was no more than a misunderstanding between a manager and employee with no action necessary. They did order the store, as well as another in the strip mall, Dave's Deals, immediately vacated and closed. No summonses were issued. Both were in direct violation of the governor's executive order. …

Amy Baioni, 29, of Basking Ridge was “nervous and shaking” when police stopped her 2016 Nissan Sentra on Wagaraw Road near Ryerson Way for various traffic violations on Saturday, Hawthorne Detective Sgt. Matthew Hoogmoed said. Given Baioni’s consent to search the car, the officers found empty heroin folds in the driver’s door pocket, along with a cigarette pac…

Matthew Hoogmoed said. Asked where he was coming from, Valentine said he was “looking at trucks for his boss” at an excavating company, Hoogmoed said. However, he “could not recall where that was or any other details,” the sergeant said. While they waited for a K-9 unit to ch…
