27-Year-Old Jeep Driver Killed, Passenger Extricated In NJ Crash
A 27-year-old Warren County Jeep driver was killed and his 33-year-old passenger extricated in a Union county crash Saturday, March 4, authorities said. The unidentified driver lost control of his Jeep Cherokee while heading south on North Broad Street near Hillside Avenue in Hillside just before 10 p.m., Hillside Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. The vehicle hit a guardrail and overturned in front of 16 Hillside Ave. The driver died and the passenger was taken to University Hospital in Newark in unknown condition. Both are from Washington Township.

Large Fight, Shooting Puts Hillside School On Lockdown: Police
Three people were arrested after a large fight and shooting that placed Hillside High School on lockdown — after students were dismissed — until 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, authorities said. Police were called to the incident at Liberty Ave and Ryan Street around 3 p.m., Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. Due to the proximity of the incident to the school, and that students were still inside, a school lockdown was ordered. 3 Gunmen In Hillside Bar Fight Charged, Only 1 In Custody
Two of three gunman have been charged in a gunfight that erupted at a Union County bar earlier this week, authorities announced. Kaseem M. Sutton, 44, of Springfield, remains hospitalized while Quentin D. Williams, 49, of Hillside, was being sought by police in connection with the incident at Tanky's Bar & Grill on Wednesday, April 21, Police Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. Raid Of North Jersey Woman's Home Yields Over $100K In Bogus Luxury Items, Police Say
A Union County woman was arrested Wednesday for selling counterfeit merchandise from a Hillside home, authorities said. Regina Gouveia, 45, has been under investigation since April, when police received complaints from residents in the Boston Avenue area, Det. Sgt. Natalie Ogonowski said. In October, Hillside detectives were able to gather enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for the home. Gunman In Hillside Homicide Nabbed At Newark Airport, Prosecutor Says
A 30-year-old Newark man was arrested at Newark Airport Wednesday morning in connection with the killing of a 31-year-old Hillside man last month, authorities announced. Darrius L. Easterling is accused of shooting Steven Zimmerman on the 1400 block of North Broad Street around 10 p.m. July 22, Union County Prosecutor William A. Police: Burglar Who Stole TVs, Sneakers, Cash From Hillside Home Busted With Pain Pills
A Newark man who broke into a Hillside home and stole valuables was found a week later with prescription pills, authorities said. Marquill D. Wiggins of Newark, 25, broke into a Maple Avenue home through an open basement window and stole two TVs, several boxes of sneakers and crash, before fleeing around 8:30 p.m. Sept. 23, Hillside police chief Vincent Ricciardi said.
