Bridge And (Holland) Tunnel Traffic Blocked By Pro-Palestinian Demonstrators, 325 Arrests Made
The Holland Tunnel was closed for nearly an hour during an anti-Israeli protest in Manhattan at the tail end of Monday morning's rush hour. The NYPD and Port Authority police seized hundreds of “Shut it Down for Palestine” protestors before releasing them on misdemeanor charges -- not summonses -- after they blocked the entrances to the tunnel and three East River bridges. That means they must attend court dates in person. Any who don't can have warrants issued for their arrests. Some of the protesters linked themselves using concrete-filled tires while others held signs that said "Lift t…

Love-Triangle Husband Sentenced To Life In Murder Of Popular Teaneck Software Engineer
For more than 12 years since popular software engineer Robert Cantor was brutally murdered in his Teaneck home, his twice-convicted killer has neither admitted it nor expressed any remorse. Sui Kam “Tony” Tung, 60, now has whatever’s left of his life to spend with whatever feelings he has following his sentencing Friday in Hackensack. This past July, jurors in that same courtroom convicted Tung of murdering Cantor, with whom his wife had been having an affair, in March of 2011. Superior Court Judge Christopher Kazlau said he’d seen enough of Tung to not be surprised by his refusal to spea…

Former MontCo DA Who Refused To Prosecute Bill Cosby To Helm Trump's Impeachment Team
Former Montgomery County District Attorney, Bruce L. Castor Jr. was among two lawyers chosen to head former President Donald Trump's impeachment trial a day after his legal team collapsed. Castor -- who will helm the team alongside David Schoen -- said he considers it a privilege to be representing Trump. "The strength of our Constitution is about to be tested like never before in our history," he said. "It is strong and resilient. A document written for the ages, and it will triumph over partisanship yet again, and always." Castor made headlines after declining to prosecute Bill Cosb…

Montgomery County Rep. Madeleine Dean Named Manager Of President Trump Impeachment Trial
Pennsylvania Congresswoman Madeleine Dean was named one of the managers of President Donald Trump's impeachment trial. The nine managers would be responsible for prosecuting Trump, and proving he should be removed from office after he incited the violent attack of the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, House Speak Nancy Pelosi said. “Tonight, I have the solemn privilege of naming the Managers of the impeachment trial of Donald Trump,” Pelosi Tuesday night. “It is their constitutional and patriotic duty to present the case for the President’s impeachment and removal. They will do so gu…

: Woodcliff Lake Agrees To Allow Orthodox Worship Center And Pay $1.5 Million
An Orthodox Jewish congregation will be allowed to build a new worship center in Woodcliff Lake under an agreement reached Tuesday, ending a years-long battle that the borough fought with both the religious group and the federal government. Under a pair of the agreements announced Tuesday, the feds and Valley Chabad are both dropping lawsuits against the borough for denying zoning approvals for the property at Werimus Road and Woodcliff Avenue. The borough also will pay Valley Chabad $1.5 million in damages and attorney’s fees resulting from the ordeal, under a separate agreement between th…

'There Will Be Blood On Our Hands': Murphy Slams Atlantic County Official Urging NJ's Reopening
An Atlantic County official calling for the reopening of New Jersey amid the coronavirus crisis got an earful from Gov. Phil Murphy Saturday. Atlantic County Surrogate James Curcio published a Facebook post Friday saying officials in his county need to "sound the alarm... Trust American freedom ingenuity and the US Constitution. Untie the hands of the Private Sector so it can rescue NJ from this nightmare." Murphy's response? "We need responsible leadership." "If we quote-un-quote untie the system right now there will be blood on our hands," the governor said. "This is literally life …

'House Arrest': NJ Libertarians Demand 'Freedom Of Movement, Assembly, Testing' Amid
Covid-
19
New Jersey’s Libertarian Party on Thursday accused the state and federal governments of illegally closing businesses and placing citizens under house arrest, insisting that there should be “freedom of movement, freedom of assembly and free testing,” without restrictions, for the coronavirus. “During this time of necessary ‘social distancing,’ the nanny state known as the United States federal and state governments are expanding their control by ordering its citizens to remain in their homes,” wrote Michael Guadagnino, the NJLP’s vice president of marketing. “Over the past month we have seen…

NJ Appeals Court Overturns Murder Conviction Of NYC Man In Teaneck Love Triangle
In a rare move, a state appeals court on Friday overturned the conviction of a Manhattan man for murdering popular software engineer Robert Cantor in his Teaneck home, ordering a new trial. The appeals judges focused, in large part, on what they considered inappropriate testimony by a detective in the prosecution of Sui Kam “Tony” Tung, who prosecutors said shot Cantor – who was his estranged wife’s lover – and then set his body and house on fire. The panel also said prosecutors erred in making “repeated references” during the trial to Tung saying that he wanted a lawyer and refusing to all…
