Newark Woman Charged In 'Senseless' Shooting That Left 3 Injured, Police Say
A Newark woman has been charged with shooting another woman during an altercation Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.
Nastassia Hernandez, 39, fired her gun at the victim on Hillside Avenue around 5:45 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.
The victim was found at 399 Irvine Turner Boulevard, and rushed to University Hospital for treatment.
A third victim was located at Hillside Avenue with an injury that was not the result of gunfire, O'Hara said. She, too, was transported to University Hospital.

A North Jersey restaurant customer went on an aggressive tirade, wielding a knife and threatening to kill workers who asked him to leave for not wearing a mask Wednesday night, authorities said.
Jose Canales, 21, of Morristown, was not wearing a mask when he ordered food at Fatty’s Restaurant on Morris Street around 10:30 p.m., Police Capt. Darnell Richardson said.
The restaurant’s manager, Mauri Colin, had just asked Canales to leave the store when he refused and became disrespectful, prompting Colin to cancel his order and refund the money, police said.

A Newark pair has been charged in connection with a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle that left a Montclair officer injured, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, announced Wednesday.
Rajon Norwood, 48, was charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest by flight, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Essex County Jail.
