More than 20 pounds of fentanyl and an additional 9,000 doses of the deadly drug were seized with the arrests of eight members of a major trafficking ring that operated on both sides of the Hudson River, authorities said. Those charged in the federally-led offensive range in age from 37 to 60. US Marshals Nab NJ Murder Suspect In Philadelphia
Members of the US Marshals Service captured a New Jersey man wanted for murder in Philadelphia, authorities said. Michael Cruz, 20, had been wanted in the Plainfield killing of Somerset's David Michael Buck on Sept. 17, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James T. Abney said. Cruz was captured on Monday, Oct. 3 and is pending extradition proceedings to return to New Jersey, authorities said. A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 50-year-old man on Friday, March 11 in Union County, authorities said. Haneef Welch was charged with first-degree murder and related weapons offenses for gunning down Eric C. Williams in Plainfield, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. North Jersey High School Placed On Lockdown After Student Shows Up With Gun: Police
A Union County high school was placed on lockdown when a student brought handgun to school Friday, March 4, authorities said. The Arthur L. Johnson High School student was taken into custody and the firearm was recovered, Clark police said. Members of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Union County Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to help secure the building. Police responding to the 2000 block of East Saint Georges Avenue found Bruce Edward Ham, Jr., with injuries around 2 a.m., Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V.
