Body Found In Newark Park A body was found in a Newark park amid frigid temperatures this weekend, officials said. The discovery was made around noon Saturday, Jan. 20 in Weequahic Park in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. No further information was released. The investigation remains active. Located in the city's South Ward, Weequahic Park spans more than 311 acres and features New Jersey's first golf course, according to the county parks' website.

Police responded to the 100 block of Rose Street where the unidentified body was found around 3 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. Unconfirmed reports say workers found the decomposed body in a confined space. Newark firefighters and EMS also responded.  The incident remains under investigation. Public Awaits ID Of Drowning Victim Pulled From Hudson A man whose body was found floating in the Hudson River off lower Manhattan had yet to be publicly identified on Tuesday. The NYPD Harbor Unit pulled his body from the drink near North Moore Street in Tribeca, across from Jersey City's Harborside section, shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday. Suspicions followed -- but had yet to be confirmed -- that he was a 68-year-old man who jumped from Pier 45 near Christopher Street during a public dance event and vanished into the river last Tuesday.

The man has a light complexion and is estimated to be between 20 and 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 171 pounds, police said.
