Killer Gets 35 Years For Deadly Bergen Town Center Stabbing: Prosecutor
A 74-year-old North Bergen man was sentenced on Wednesday, Oct. 16, to 35 years in prison for fatally stabbing a man in 2021, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, Augusto Perez stabbed Omar Cruz, a 64-year-old Albany, NY resident, to death behind the Ulta Beauty store in the Bergen Town Center mall in Maywood, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Muella said.
With his dying breath, Cruz identified his killer, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

Newark Man Convicted Of Fatally Stabbing, Strangling Girlfriend: Prosecutors
Nasean Torres, a 49-year-old Newark man was convicted of murder on Thursday, Dec. 14 for fatally stabbing and strangling his longtime girlfriend in July 22, authorities said.
On July 22, police responded to 47 Palm St. in Newark and found Elizabeth Kelley, 55, lying in the basement floor of her home, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. It was determined she died from manual strangulation and multiple stab wounds, Stephens said.

A jury in Essex County Thursday convicted Khalil Wheeler-Weaver of slaying three women and brutally attacking a fourth, NJ.com reported.
Wheeler-Weaver, a 23-year-old from Orange, was found guilty on all 11 counts following a two-month trial, including desecrating human remains and aggravated sexual assault. Jurors took about three hours to convict him of the murders of Sarah Butler, 20, Robin West, 19, and Joanne Brown, 33, and of assaulting the fourth woman.
