'The Office' Star Kate Flannery Spotted In NJ
Some "The Office" fans got a kick out of seeing one of the show's biggest stars this week in New Jersey. Kate Flannery, known for her role as Meredith "The Drunk" Palmer, threw out the first pitch at the Trenton Thunder game June 30. She was also spotted on the boardwalk in Ocean City, graciously taking photos with fans. Trenton Thunder owner Joseph Plumeri called the New York Yankees "despicable" for dumping the Class AA Eastern League team in favor of a new affiliation with the tonier Somerset Patriots. "While this community built the Yankees organization up and set minor league baseball attendance records, it seems the Yankees were only focused on trying to cut culturally diverse Trenton down in favor of a wealthy, higher socioeconomic area in Somerset," Plumeri said Saturday. It’s official: The New York Yankees are adding the Somerset Patriots and Hudson Valley Renegades while dropping the Trenton Thunder and Staten Island Yankees. The Pats, who play at TD Ballpark in Bridgewater, will be the Bronx Bombers’ new Double-A affiliate and the Renegades, who play at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, the new Single-A affiliate, Baseball America reported Friday. Also gone are the Charleston (SC) RiverDogs, a Full-Season-A team.
