Multiple NJ Transit Lines Suspended Due To Signal Issues At NY Penn Station
An Amtrak signal issue at New York Penn Station has suspended NJ Transit service on Friday, Jan. 12, officials said. All rail service on the Northeast Corridor, Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line is suspended due to Amtrak signal issues, Kyalo Mulumba, a senior public information officer for NJ Transit said. Bay Head shuttles will continue to operate and Midtown Direct service is being diverted to Hoboken, Mulumba said. Limited NJ Transit Service Resumes On Northeast Line Disrupted By Downed Wires
A motor vehicle crash in Edison caused a power outage that knocked out New Jersey Transit service between Rahway and Trenton, authorities said. UPDATE: Northeast Corridor rail service resumed limited service on Monday afternoon, May 2, in both directions between Rahway and Trenton. Eastbound trains will bypass New Brunswick, Edison and Metuchen. Customers should transfer at Metropark for westbound service to these stations, NJ Transit announced. Rampaging Glen Rock Teens Destroy Statue, Stop Train Service, After Graduation
As many as 100 teens ran wild following Glen Rock High School’s graduation, stopping train service, damaging an event area and stealing a statue of the school mascot, authorities said. The panther statue “was returned to our campus after a gracious parent put out the call for a return,” Principal Michael Parent said. It was destroyed, however, the principal said in an email to the parents of school seniors. Parent called the rampage a “disgraceful act” that he said was “committed by our own students.
