These NJ Towns Got The Most Rain, Snow In Weekend Storm
The National Weather Service has released rainfall totals from the weekend storm.
Between Sunday morning, Dec. 10 and Monday morning, Dec. 11, the area that got the most amount of rain was Deerfield with 4.45 inches, then Flemington/Hopewell, with 4.29 inches. Franklin Lakes saw 4.09 inches, the NWS says. Flanders only got .13 inches, and Florham Park only had .38 inches of rain.
High Point got 5.1 inches of snow, according to the NWS, the most across the state, while Wantage saw 5 inches and Hardyston saw .4 inches.

UPDATE: An unemployed Franklin Lakes man stabbed, bludgeoned and drowned his 87-year-old father in their home, then went to the police station to confess to the murder, according to a report outlining the horrific assault.
David Allen Hagal, 60, was charged with murder and illegal weapons possession in the brutal murder of his 87-year-old father.
Borough police rushed to the home, found the body of George J. Hagal and took David Allen Hagal, 60, into custody shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.

A repeat offender who might’ve thought he’d given a Leonia police sergeant the slip would've been wrong.
It began when Leonia Police Sgt. Ray Forsdahl tried to stop a BMW with New York plates for a violation in the area of Broad and Lakeview avenues, Capt. Chris Garris said.
The driver kept going, though, getting onto southbound Route 95, the captain said on Friday, Dec. 1.
Forsdahl pursued him for a ways, then dropped back out of safety reasons, he said.

It was a lucky Tuesday, Nov. 28 for two Mega Millions players in North Jersey.
Two tickets, one sold in Union County and another sold in Bergen County, matched four of the five winning numbers plus the gold Mega Ball, winning $10,000. The ticket sold in Bergen County was bought with a Megaplier, increasing the prize to $30,000. Only 12 lottery players in the country took home $10,000.

Fairview Contractor Nicky Morin Dies, 48
Nikola "Nicky" Morin, Jr., a Fairview resident, died on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the age of 48, according to his obituary.
Born in Teaneck, Morin spent his whole life in Fairview, where he worked as a plumber and contractor, his obituary reads. He is survived by his mother, Katherine, his son, Jayden, and his brothers, Jason and Anthony.
