Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze In Middlesex County
Two homes were heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire that started in a garage in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Friday, June 14, at 2:40 a.m., the Middlesex Borough Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 832 West Second Street. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a garage was fully engulfed in flames. A vehicle veered off of Interstate 287 in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10 northbound near Exit 4 (Durham Road) in South Plainfield, according to New Jersey State Police. Troopers responded to a motorist aid, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. Upon the trooper’s arrival, a Freightliner box truck ran off the road and into a ditch, he said. There were no injuries reported, Lebron said. Two right lanes of three lanes were closed causing traffic delays, 511nj.org reported.

Fire destroyed a food and clothing pantry in Middlesex County, authorities said. The fire broke out in a building leased by Fish Inc. on the 400 block of New Market Road at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, according to Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler, who was at the scene. Pickup Driver Dead, 7 Passengers Hurt In Pre-Dawn Parkway Crash
A 69-year-old pickup truck driver died and his seven passengers were hurt in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday, June 7, authorities said. Thomas F. Gilbert Jr. was heading south near milepost 140.3 in Kenilworth when he crossed all lanes of travel, causing the van to hit the front left side of the truck around 4 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt.
