Newark First Responders Rescue Man From Passaic River: Police A 23-year-old man was rescued after falling into the Passaic River in Newark on Saturday, Nov. 2, authorities said. At 10:22 p.m., first responders went to the Passaic River at Jersey Street and Raymond Boulevard on a call of a man in the water, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The victim was safely rescued and transported to University Hospital for treatment, Fragé said.  He is reportedly in stable condition, Fragé said.

At 10:38 a.m., police responded to the Passaic River near Red Bull Stadium on a report of a body floating in the water, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police located the body near Riverbank Park at Raymond Boulevard and Brill Street, Fragé said.  The victim is a male swimmer who had not surfaced since entering the water at 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, Fragé said. Someone spotted the 30-year-old victim’s body on the Harrison side of the river from Raymond Boulevard in Newark just after 4:45 p.m., responders said. Harrison firefighters recovered the body near the PSE&G lot about 40 minutes later. Jersey City Man, 36, Killed In Newark Crash A motorist died after a collision with a tractor-trailer in Newark Wednesday afternoon, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  Jason Mullins, a 36-year-old from Jersey City, was traveling west on Raymond Boulevard near Chapel St. around 2:10 p.m. in a Chevy Trax when the crash occurred.  The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene.  The accident occurred not far from a junction of major roadways including Rt. 1&9 and the Turnpike.
