A seven-alarm fire tore through downtown Bound Brook Sunday night. The blaze broke out just before 8 p.m. in an unoccupied pair of buildings under construction on East Main Street near Mountain Avenue in the commercial district. A crash that stretched utility wires across Route 17 Sunday morning in Upper Saddle River occurred when a 58-year-old Paterson driver suffered a medical episode, authorities told Daily Voice. The victim was alone in his Dodge Caravan when it veered off the southbound highway and struck a tree and a utility pole near Maserati of Bergen County shortly after 7:30 a.m., Detective Lt. PSE&G Worker Injured While Repairing Pole In Elizabeth
A worker was hurt Monday morning while repairing a damaged utility pole in Elizabeth, PSE&G said in a statement. The worker was working on a damaged pole around 10 a.m. on Cherry Street when he was hurt. The utility did not specify the nature of the injury, but said the worker was transported to the burn unit at St,. Barnabas Medical Center for treatment. The worker was conscious when he was transported. The incident is under investigation, PSE&G also said.

An SUV slammed head-on into a telephone pole on busy Broad Avenue in Ridgefield Wednesday afternoon, leaving it tilted over the roadway and sending the driver to the hospital. Burning Wires Fall In Ramsey, Jam Area Traffic
Ramsey firefighters doused separate mini-blazes sparked Monday by downed utility lines blocks apart. Burning wires fell on Lake Street at Franklin Turnpike in front of Eastwick College and on Canterbury Drive, spreading to some brush. Runners can now register for the annual Newark Corporate and Individual 5K, which will be held Oct. 2 in downtown Newark. Three local men were arrested after they sped away from police and crashed at the Ridgefield/Palisades Park border, authorities said. Ridgefield Police Sgt.
