Kohl’s announced Thursday, Jan. 9, the closure of 27 underperforming stores, including locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia, as part of its 2025 real estate changes.
The closures are expected to be finalized by April 2025 and are part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its store portfolio while adapting to evolving consumer trends. Among the affected locations are stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

Tie Between Plane Crash, Wildfire In Ocean County Unclear
Sometime around a plane crashed in Ocean County, a wildfire broke out.
As of Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3, it remained unclear if the two were connected.
The FAA said a single-engine Cirrus SR22 crashed in a wooded area in Toms River, New Jersey, around 2:30 a.m. Only the pilot was on board.
According to 6abc, the plane had departed Pottstown, PA, and was heading to Toms River when it crashed in a wooded area of Lacey Township, near the Ocean County Airport.
Sometime thereafter, a wildfire broke out, closing a portion of Dover and Mule roads near Miller Airpark.

$20,000 Of Fentanyl Seized From Philadelphia Area Dealer: Police
A Philadelphia area man was found with more than $20,000 worth of fentanyl in an undercover bust, authorities said.
Naim Payton, 23, of Morrisville, was set to sell a large quantity of the uncut, highly lethal drug on Monday, April 25, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said.
Detectives spotted him on the 400 block of North Evans Street in Pottstown that evening, and stopped his car, Steele said alongside Pottstown Police Chief Mick Markovich.
