Unlicensed Motorist, 81, Drove With Flat On Route 287 Median: Franklin Lakes PD
An unlicensed 81-year-old out-of-state motorist drove an unregistered sedan on the grass median of Route 287 before she was stopped by police, authorities said. Franklin Lakes officers responding to a call found the Rhode Island woman driving at a slow speed in the right lane of southbound Route 287 just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, Capt. Robert Grassi said. They stopped her near milepost 58, the captain said. The driver told police she'd gotten lost and then got a flat, he said. UPDATE: Surveillance cameras at CNBC corporate headquarters in Bergen County captured images of a Middlesex County man stabbing a woman in the parking lot, authorities said. The 30-year-old victim was leaving the Sylvan Avenue (Route 9W) facility shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, when Harshkuma H. Man Shot In Newark: Police
A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Saturday, June 16, authorities said. At 7:33 p.m., officers responded to Van Vechten Street near Hanford Street and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. The shooting remains under investigation.

Two Bloomfield juveniles were arrested after firing BB guns in Montclair on Sunday, June 9, that struck multiple people, police said. Two Injured In Four-Car Crash: Newark PD
Two people were injured in a four-car crash in Newark on the morning of Tuesday, June 11, authorities said. At 10:59 a.m., police responded to a four-car crash at Lyons Avenue and Leslie Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.. Two people were transported to a nearby hospital for complaints of pain, Fragé said. One of the vehicles in the crash was parked and pushed against the closed gate of an unoccupied commercial property, Fragé said. All drivers remained on scene and the crash remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Shots Fired Into Vehicle In Montclair: Police
Gunshots were fired in Montclair on the early evening of Monday, June 10, authorities said. At 6:46 p.m., officers responded to New Street and Mission Street after multiple callers reported hearing five to six gunshots, Montclair police said. Police did not locate any victims and area hospitals did not report any walk-in victims of gunshot wounds, officers said. The next day, officers located a Chevy Cobalt parked on New Street with a bullet hole in the passenger side front door, police said.
