Amanda Nicole Magenheim, a student at Penn State University and a native of Livingston, NJ, died on Friday, Jan. 12 after suffering a severe asthma attack at the age of 21, according to a fundraiser set up to support her family.
A devoted Nittany Lion, Magenheim made the Dean's List every semester and dreamed of becoming an occupational therapist, according to her obituary. She is survived by her parents, Donna and Sanford, her sisters, Alyssa and Erica, and numerous other family members and friends, her obituary reads.

Support is surging for the family of a 47-year-old school counselor and mom Alanna Smallwood, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 12, according to a campaign launched for her family.

Alyson Garino, a Bergen County native and highly-respected First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, died on Dec. 2, 2023. She was 30 years old.

Penn State Mourns Loss Of First Student To Die Of Covid-19, Allentown Man, 21
Penn State University is mourning the death of a 21-year-old student who died of COVID-19 complications.
Juan Garcia, of Allentown, PA, died Tuesday of respiratory failure and coronavirus complications, university officials said.
Garcia is the first known COVID-19 fatality among Penn State students, officials said.
More than $21,000 had been raised as of Saturday on a GoFundMe for Garcia's funeral expenses.
