A 13-year-old girl and her father were hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Rahway on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said. At 8:23 p.m., the two were crossing the intersection when they were struck by the NJ Transit bus, which was turning from Elizabeth Avenue onto West Scott Avenue, Rahway police said. A man died when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Red Bank, officials said. The pedestrian was hit by a southbound North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3241 at the Monmouth Street crossing at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Two people in their 20s were fatally struck by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 19, authorities said. Tatiana Liceth, a 26-year-old Elizabeth resident, and Edisson Mauricio, 24 , were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said.
