A 66-year-old Newark teacher died Saturday, Oct. 26, after being struck by a vehicle at Arts High School on Wednesday, Oct. 23, authorities said. At 10:39 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard on a call of two pedestrians struck, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police found two women, one of whom was Laura Cuevas, struck in the aftermath of a two-car crash that saw one vehicle striking a wall at Arts High School, Fragé said. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle along Route 21 in Passaic on Tuesday, Oct. 22, authorities said. The unidentified male was struck by an Acura sedan while trying to cross the roadway in the northbound lanes around 8:05 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. A 51-year-old Newark man was killed after he was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by a Paterson police officer on the evening of Monday, Oct. 21, authorities said. Man, 33, Killed By Car Trying To Cross Route 3 In East Rutherford, Police Say
A 33-year-old man was struck and killed by a car on Route 3 Thursday night, Sept. 26, police said. Officers were called to the eastbound lanes of the highway at midnight where the pedestrian had been struck by a 2004 Toyota Camry while trying to cross the highway, ERPD Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. A 54-year-old Union City man is in critical condition after he was struck a motorcycle in a hit and run crash in West New York on Saturday, Aug. 17, authorities said. A 96-year-old former nun was struck and killed by a vehicle last week in Sussex County, police said. Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said. There were two fatal crashes in one day in Monroe Township, authorities said. A driver died after crashing on Wednesday, June 12 after a medical emergency, Monroe police said. The crash occurred on Applegarth Road (Route 619) in Monroe at about 10 a.m., police said. Police didn’t identify the driver pending notification of next of kin. Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 9 In Central Jersey: Sayreville PD
A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 9 in Sayreville early Monday, Jan. 22, authorities said. The man's identification had not been released pending notification of kin, said Lt. James Novak, a Sayreville police spokesman. The fatal crash occurred at about 12:40 a.m. in the 900 block of Route 9 North near the Sunoco station, Novak said. A man was fatally struck by a train near Fanwood Station on Thursday, Jan. 18, NJ Transit said. A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car crossing a street in Midland Park. A Hoboken-bound NJ Transit train from Port Jervis struck and killed a pedestrian near the Paterson train station late Tuesday morning, the agency confirmed.
