Happy New Year! Union County Powerball Player Wins Big
Two North Jersey lottery players found a perfect way to ring in the New Year. Lottery tickets sold in Union County and Essex County matched four white balls and the Powerball in the drawing held on Wednesday, Jan. 1. The ticket sold in Cranford was bought with a multiplier and won $150,000 while the ticket sold in Nutley won $50,000. The tickets were sold at Quick Check on North East Avenue in Cranford and the Nutley Newsstand on Franklin Avenue in Nutley. The winning numbers were 06, 12, 28, 35, 66. The Powerball was 26 and the Power Play was 3X.

Natalie D’Angelo believes her beloved dog Zoey, who passed away in March, played a role in bringing Stella into her life. David Fontoura, a lieutenant in the Essex Coutny Prosecutor's Office was charged with multiple accounts of assault related to domestic violence incidents, authorities said. Fontoura was charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses, criminal restraint and making terroristic threats, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said, for incidents that occurred in Nutley between September 2019 and March 2020. Two Juveniles Arrested For Vehicle Theft: Nutley PD
Two juveniles have been apprehended after a car was stolen in Nutley last month, police said. On Wednesday, March 6 at 4:21 a.m., the two juveniles entered a home on Alexander Avenue through a rear door and stole the keys to a Land Rover parked in the driveway, Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said. The vehicle was recovered in East Orange a day later, police said. The juveniles have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and motor vehicle theft, police said.

UPDATE: The victim has been ID'ed as 22-year-old Wiston Perlaza. One person was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Nutley on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 14, police said. The hit-and-run motor vehicle crash occurred at 7 p.m. at Milton Avenue at the Garden State Parkway overpass, Nutley police said. Nutley police and the Essex County Prosecutors Office are working to identify the perpetrator, officers said. The victim has not been identified.
