A 70-year-old confessed bank robber from Little Falls was sentenced to five years in prison Friday for holding up banks four days apart in Wayne and Pequannock. Wayne detectives, with help from the FBI and the Passaic County Sheriff's Office, captured Philip N. McGrantham as he returned home in a rented Nissan Altima that a law enforcement source told Daily Voice was used earlier that day in the Sept. 30 robbery last year of a TD Bank branch on Valley Avenue. Morris County Sex Offender Previously Convicted Of Assaulting Boys Gets 10 Years For Child Porn
A registered sex offender from Morris County who served time for sexually assaulting two boys is headed back to prison for uploading child porn. Under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act, Alexander Willadsen, 31, must serve 8½ years of a 10-year state prison sentence handed down Friday by Superior Court Judge David H. UPDATE: A Toms River man admitted Friday that he killed his mother in front of his younger brother late last summer. Edgar Diaz, 18, of Manchester, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in Superior Court in Toms River in exchange for a 20-year prison term at a scheduled March 6 sentencing. A 22-year-old woman from Pompton Lakes admitted that she ran over her friend in a Sussex County strip club parking lot, according to a published report. Jacqueline Lowe reportedly had a blood-alcohol level of .14 when she was arrested last October following the incident outside of the Bare Den on Route 206. A Jersey City man who was previously found guilty of gunning down another city resident was sentenced to life in prison, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Monday. Marquise Brown, 26, will be about 90 years old when he's eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act, which requires him to serve a minimum of 85 percent of his sentence. A man who stabbed his wife more than 70 times in a jealous rage at their Jersey City home two years ago was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison for murder and an additional 10 years for child endangerment, NJ.com reported.
