Two Teenagers Shot In Newark: Police
Two teenagers were shot in Newark on Thursday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 2:55 p.m., police responded to South 11th Street and South Orange Avenue and located a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The two victims were taken to University Hospital and are in stable condition, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said

A 67-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 31, authorities said. At 7:01 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Malvern Street and found Jose Gaona suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Gunfire Rings Out At New Year's Celebration At Newark Lounge: Police
Two people were shot at a New Year's celebration in Newark, authorities said. Gunfire rang out around 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at La Rouge, a lounge on the 900 block of Broad Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Responding police found two victims, both men, who were rushed to University Hospital for treatment. As of press time, one victim was critical and the other was stable, Fragé said. The lounge's social media page shows it had been hosting a New Year's party. The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.

13-Year-Old Boy Shot In Newark: Authorities
A 13-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot in Newark on Wednesday, Dec. 20, authorities said. At 10:43 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Leslie Street on a report of shots fired, and found the boy at Grand Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director, Fritz Fragé said. The boy had been shot at Leslie Street and was taken to University Hospital, Fragé said. The shooting resulted in a brief lockdown at Bragaw Avenue School, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Newark police are attempt to locate a person wanted for stabbing a man in the head on Tuesday, Dec. 19. At 1:30 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Ferry Street and found the man had been slashed in the head during a fight that initially began as a verbal altercation inside an area bar Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. A 3-year-old was found unharmed in Jersey City after an AMBER alert was issued out of Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 31. At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.

A false bomb threat was phoned into BRICK Avon Academy in Newark on Monday, Oct. 23, police said. Police responded to the school at 1 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.
