? Authorities Probe Newark Hit-Run Crash That Killed 36-Year-Old Man
A 36-year-old Newark man was struck and killed in a weekend crash, authorities said. Andrew Dixon was struck near Elizabeth Avenue and Earl Street around 10:55 p.m. on Jan. 23, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Ambrose and Stephens said. The driver did not stop and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities in Newark are seeking the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with an apparent road rage incident. Police responding to Rome Street and Wilson Avenue around 8 p.m., Sept. 2 for a fight found a male driver and a female passenger saying they were assaulted by two men during a quarrel with people in another car, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Authorities: Newark Officers Turned Off Cameras In Attempt To Conceal Motor Vehicle Pursuit
A pair of Newark police officers were remanded to administrative duties after violating protocol during a motor vehicle pursuit, authorities said. The officers turned off their dash- and body-cams, and failed to report the pursuit, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. The violations came to light during an investigation by the transparency and risk analysis team, a sub-unit of the Newark Police Division’s Office of Professional Standards. : Jeep Driver Who Died In Fiery Newark Crash ID'd
Authorities have identified the man killed in a fiery Newark crash involving a tanker truck and two cars. A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Durhon Fuller, 34, hit the back of a tanker truck at the Bergen Street and Madison Avenue intersection around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. Fuller became trapped in his Jeep as both vehicles went up in flames, and died at the scene, authorities said.
