The attorney representing the family of a Jefferson mom allegedly fatally shot by her Newark police lieutenant husband will soon be suing the officer and his department, according to a recent report. A tort claim notice was filed by attorney Marco Laracca against John Formisano, who is accused of fatally shooting his wife Christie Solaro Formisano and wounding her boyfriend last July -- about a month after filing for divorce, NJ.com reports. The Newark Police Department is asking the public's help locating the people who took part in a robbery of a man Aug. 30. The victim was in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue around 8 p.m. when a BMW X3 pulled up and two males got out, demanding the victim's valuables at gunpoint. A cold-case task force created in Bergen County cracked a 10-year-old Newark murder with the arrest of an East Orange man. The victim, 31-year-old Philip Quale, was killed by several gunshots on the 17th floor of a First Street high rise on Dec. 27, 2009, authorities said Thursday. The Newark Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in finding a man suspected of a shooting that left two people injured, including a young child who was grazed by a bullet. Authorities released a photo array of a man who may have opened fire Friday during a fight with another man outside The Waterfront recreation center on Grafton Avenue. Police in Newark are looking for a trio of carjackers who robbed a man of his car and cash July 7. The victim was driving a four-door 2010 Pontiac Vibe when two males and a female carjacked him on Cypress Street near South 20th. The victim was struck with a silver handgun during the attack. Police are looking for a 52-year-old Newark man suspected of trying to rip a gold chain off the neck of a pregnant woman last month. The woman, who was seven months pregnant, was walking down the 400 block of Market Street around 11:30 a.m. May 8 with another woman and a child when a man approached them and tried to steal the chain.
