Feds: Agents Find More Victims Of Elizabeth Pimp Who Beat, Raped Out-Of-State Escorts
For several years, an Elizabeth man lured out-of-state escorts to New Jersey with promises of tens of thousands of dollars for sex and then choked, raped and threatened them, federal authorities charged.
FBI agents captured Jose Torres, 43, after finding four victims but suspected there were more.
They were right.
Two more travelled from New York to New Jersey to work for Torres as prostitutes, an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Newark this week says.

Port Authority police captured a driver who they said assaulted a companion at Newark Airport, sped off with her and her friend in his SUV and then crashed.
The incident began Thursday afternoon at the Terminal B arrivals area, Port Authority Media Relations Deputy Director Amber Greene said.
Jason Strong, 30, of Staten Island, assaulted a woman, then sped off with her and her friend in the Cadillac SRX, which crashed along Meeker Avenue in Newark, Greene said.
The 6-foot, 180-pound Strong -- who already was wanted on warrants -- took off on foot and was quickly captured, she said.

For more than four years, an Elizabeth man lured out-of-state escorts to New Jersey with promises of tens of thousands of dollars for sex – then slapped, choked, raped and threatened them, authorities charged.
An indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Newark on Friday added two more victims, bringing the total to four charged to Jose Torres, 42.
Torres met the women through websites for online escorts and on Backpage.com beginning in May 2015, an FBI complaint on file in U.S. District Court in Newark says.

'Healthy, Strong' Newark Airport Worker Dies Of Coronavirus, Coworker Says
A United Airlines employee who worked at Newark airport died of coronavirus despite being healthy and strong, his coworker says.
Carlos Consuegra, 52, of Union City, worked as a ramp service employee in Terminal B and died Tuesday of the virus.
Marco A. Alva, Sr., who worked in Terminal C, told NJ.com that Consuegra looked healthy until March 17 -- when he fell asleep on a company tug.
Consuegra was sent home and was evaluated at Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth, where he passed out and then was diagnosed with an ear infection, according to Alva.
