Vernon Cpl. Steve Rovetto was on the lake in West Milford when he saw that the man had been struck around 6 p.m. June 20, and called 9-1-1, West Milford Police Capt. Parrello said. Rovetto went over to the victim, improvised a tourniquet out of rope, and then accompanied him by boat to the South Shore Marina. At the marina, they were met by West Milford Sgt. Bregman who applied a tourniquet and requested a medical helicopter due to the seriousness of the injury.…

Body Recovered From Passaic River A body was recovered from the Passaic River in Hudson County Monday afternoon, police reports say. The New Jersey State Police Marine Unit was apparently dispatched to the area of the river near 1st Street in Harrison around 2:15 p.m. Last week, the bodies of a young couple who were swept away in Hurricane Ida's floodwaters were recovered from the river. As of Monday, a Little Falls woman who witnesses said was also swept into the river by the current remained missing. No further details were immediately released.

Body Of Chimney Rock Reservoir Drowning Victim Recovered, ID'd The body of a 37-year-old man who jumped from a cliff at the Chimney Rock Reservoir was located Tuesday. Michael Woskey, of Somerville, jumped from a cliff at the reservoir and began struggling in the water around 3 p.m. Monday, Bridgewater police Lt.
