The New Jersey State Attorney General's Office released surveillance camera footage and police radio transmissions after a state trooper struck and killed a Morris County cyclist in February. At 6 a.m., on Monday, February 5, Kesene Grier was driving an unmarked police SUV when she struck Raul Diaz, a 59-year-old Long Valley resident in Hackettstown, the state attorney general's office said. The New Jersey State Attorney General's Office has released bodycam footage of a police involved shooting that left a 39-year-old man dead. Police were called to a home on Elizabeth Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Dec. 5, 2023, for a man later identified as Shannon Rose, 39, of Manchester, who was in distress, the AG's office said (scroll for video). A grand jury has decided not to indict Newark police officers who fatally shot a 29-year-old man in May 2023. The grand jury's vote follows an investigation into the shooting death of Everett Rand by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability. A man found shot dead in a Paterson gas station parking lot Wednesday became the 23rd victim gunned down in the Silk City this year. The body of Michael Richardson, 33, was found on the ground of the BP station at Broadway and Summer Street, in a neighborhood rife with drugs and gangs, shortly after 3 p.m., authorities said. A driver who ran from police after crashing his car in the parking lot of a South Jersey shopping center died of an apparent overdose after telling them he was high on meth, authorities said.
