Police in Piscataway have released bodycam footage showing the capture of the rogue alligator more than a week after it was spotted in a Central Jersey park (scroll for video). The 56-second clip shows the 4-foot gator running from officers who spotted him in front of a home near 2nd Avenue Thursday night, Sept. 7. The alligator was first spotted on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Alligator Captured In Central Jersey
The elusive alligator that kept a Central Jersey park closed for more than a week was captured about 400 yards from where it was first spotted Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. On Thursday night, Sept. 7, officers from the Piscataway Police Department found the 4-foot-long gator near 2nd Avenue, in the roadway in front of a home around 10:10, Middlesex police said. A Middlesex County park will remain closed over the Labor Day Weekend due to repeated sightings of a small alligator, authorities said. The 3 or 4-foot gator was first spotted Wednesday, Aug. 23 in Victor Crowell Park, submerged in the waters of Lake Creighton, commonly known as the Duck Pond, and Ambrose Brook in Middlesex Borough. The 3 or 4-foot gator was first spotted last Wednesday, Aug. 23 in Victor Crowell Park, submerged in the waters of Lake Creighton, commonly known as the Duck Pond, and Ambrose Brook in Middlesex Borough. Small Alligator Spotted In Middlesex County Park
See you later, alligator... hopefully. Authorities are searching for a small alligator spotted in a Middlesex County park. The 3 to 4-foot gator was seen submerged in Ambrose Park in Middlesex Borough, but hadn't been seen since Friday, Aug. 25. "We are working closely with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Conservation Police to capture and relocate the reptile," police said. 28-Year-Old Motorcyclist Struck, Killed By Car In Central Jersey
There's been an outpouring of community support for Ramon Sanchez, a 28-year-old motorcyclist who was struck and killed in a crash on Sunday, June 19. Sanchez, of Dunellen, was struck by a Hyundai on his Suzuki motorcycle around 1:11 p.m. while heading west on Route 28 at Fairfield Avenue, Middlesex police said. A 23-year-old Newark man was arrested after threatening to release "compromising" photos of a girl who tried ending her relationship with him, authorities in Middlesex said. Robert Arroyo was charged with making terroristic threats, stalking, invasion of privacy and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, Middlesex Police Chief Matthew P. Geist said on Friday.
