Person Stabbed In Kearny, Suspect Apprehended: Police
A 49-year-old Kearny man was arrested and charged after a stabbing on Friday, Oct. 18 left a man with life-threatening injurie, authorities said. Officers apprehended William Krebs following the stabbing on Quincy Avenue near Maple Street, Kearny police said. Despite the life-threatening injuries, the victim is expected to survive, police said. Krebs was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses, police said. He is currently in the Hudson County Jail, police said.

Man Critically Burned In Secaucus Fire
A 56-year-old man was left critically burned in a Secaucus high-rise fire Friday, April 8, authorities said. Multiple smoke detector notifications brought police and firefighters to The Elms on Fifth Street around 2:35 p.m., where heavy smoke was coming from unit 406, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The 56-year-old man inside the unit was found with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Hudson Regional Hospital and then transferred to the West Chester Medical Center Burn Unit where he remains in critical condition. Pedestrian Seriously Injured Near Accident Scene In Totowa
A pedestrian was hospitalized with what responders said they believed were life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a car Thursday night in Totowa while a police officer was investigating a nearby crash that occurred moments earlier. The freak accident occurred in front of the Delta gas station on Union Boulevard and Boyle Avenue around 5 p.m. The officer was writing his report when the woman was hit. The Totowa First Aid Squad took her to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office responded along with borough police and EMS.
