The driver who struck and killed an 87-year-old pedestrian from Scotch Plains last week has been issued three summonses, authorities said.
John Cregg was struck by James Reid, 74, of Parlin, on South Avenue at the Scotch Plains Avenue intersection around 12:50 p.m. last Friday, Westfield police said.
Cregg was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark, police said.
Parlin was charged with failure to observe a traffic control device, failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and careless driving, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
