The two-year-old boy who was in critical condition after nearly drowning succumbed to his injuries on Friday, May 31, authorities said. On Tuesday, May 28, at approximately 7:40 p.m., South Plainfield police received a 911 call reporting that a child was found in the pool and wasn’t breathing. A 2-year-old boy remains in critical condition after nearly drowning in a pool in South Plainfield, authorities said. On Tuesday, May 28, at approximately 7:36 p.m.., South Plainfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a child was found in the pool and wasn’t breathing, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
