Carjackers Who Led Wild Route 78 Pursuit Had Heroin, Firearms, Three Magazines: Police
More than a dozen decks of heroin, firearms and several magazines were seized following an armed carjacking and wild Route 78 pursuit, leading to the arrest of four Newark males including two teens Thursday, July 7, authorities said.
Tysean Ware, 19, Raheem Pamplin, 21, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male, were being held on various charges as of Friday, Newark Interim Public Safety Director Raul Malave said.
It began around 1 p.m., when police responded to the 200 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue for an armed carjacking, Malave said.

Driver Who Killed 2 In Stolen Car Captured In Newark (Video): Police
A Newark driver who killed two people when he struck their vehicle in a stolen car has been arrested, and police have released the footage of his capture, they said (scroll down for video).
Sharrod Rogers, 20, was behind the wheel of a 2021 Dodge Charger stolen out of Union struck an Acura, killing a man and woman, around 4:30 a.m. March 31, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O'Hara said.

17 Busted For Illegal Dumping In Newark, Police Charge
Five men were charged and 12 issued summonses for illegal dumping in Newark since October, authorities announced Tuesday.
“I am hopeful that any suspect found guilty of illegal dumping in Newark faces a sentence by the judicial system harsh enough to deter these crimes in the future,” Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
The most recent incident occurred Dec. 27, after a railroad worker spotted Liel Moises, 46, Richard Salernitano, 53, both of Newark, dumping construction debris from a truck parked near the train tracks at 14-16 Meeker Pl., Ambrose said.

Thirteen shooting suspects were arrested and 29 illegal weapons were recovered in the month in Newark, authorities said Friday.
The men were arrested for various incidents since Oct. 1, and the weapons were linked to incidents that occurred in the last two-week span, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
