Body Found In Newark Park
A body was found in a Newark park amid frigid temperatures this weekend, officials said. The discovery was made around noon Saturday, Jan. 20 in Weequahic Park in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. No further information was released. The investigation remains active. Located in the city's South Ward, Weequahic Park spans more than 311 acres and features New Jersey's first golf course, according to the county parks' website.

Unidentified Man's Body Found Amid Wreckage Of Hawthorne Auto Repair Shop Fire
Authorities were trying to identify a man whose body was found at the scene of a destructive fire at an auto repair shop in Hawthorne. The blaze ignited among tires, pallets and debris, then spread to three trucks behind Luscher’s Automotive between 4th and Lafayette avenues shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, Hawthorne Fire Chief Joseph Speranza said. Two Teenagers Shot In Newark: Police
Two teenagers were shot in Newark on Thursday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 2:55 p.m., police responded to South 11th Street and South Orange Avenue and located a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. An armed man was shot and killed by police Tuesday night in Manchester Township, authorities confirmed. The officers had responded to a 911 call on Elizabeth Avenue in the Ocean County township shortly before 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. Authorities identified a man who was struck and killed by a police car in South Jersey before dawn on Thanksgiving as a 44-year-old resident of Berlin. An unresponsive 2-year-old child died at Holy Name Medical Center after being brought there from a home in Bergenfield early Sunday evening, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed. A 49-year-old Irvington man was shot and killed in Newark on Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. At 9:17 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Goodwin Avenue and found Andre Shoulars outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
