Man Critical After Struck In Hit, Run Crash In Bayonne: Prosecutor A 25-year-old Bayonne man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. At 12:20 a.m., Bayonne police responded to Route 440 and 22nd Street and found the man with life-threatening injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene, Suarez said. The man was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, Suarez said. Update: Man Killed By NJ Transit Train Near Jersey Shore Station A man died when he was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Red Bank, officials said. The pedestrian was hit by a southbound North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3241 at the Monmouth Street crossing at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The crossing is next to the Red Bank transit station. The train left New York Penn Station at 12:12 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 1:45 p.m. None of the 25 passengers or crew on the train were injured. Man Shot In Jersey City: Authorities A 34-year-old man was briefly hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said. At 3:35 a.m., the man was transported to a nearby hospital from Eastern Parkway and Garfield Avenue after he sustained non-life threatening injuries to the right buttocks, right thigh area and right wrist, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.  He was treated and released from the hospital on Monday, Oct. 7, Wallace-Scalfione said. Man Critically Injured In Bayonne Fire: Prosecutor A man was critically injured in a fire in Bayonne on the late afternoon of Monday, Sept. 16, authorities said. At 5:20 p.m., the Bayonne Fire Department responded to 167 West 9th St. after receiving multiple reports of a fire, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
