An air quality alert has been issued for several areas across New Jersey and Pennsylvania through late Friday, June 14. The most serious alert, an Air Quality Action Day, has been issued from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. across Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union counties. NJ Transit Changing Refund Policy After Criticism
NJ Transit is continuing to tweak its ticket policy. NJ Transit announced that refunds will be made available for unused one-way tickets purchased prior to Saturday, June 1. The refund policy will also apply to rail 10-trip tickets. Tickets purchased on or after June 1 must be used by the end of July and will not be eligible for refunds. Last month, NJ Transit announced all tickets purchased prior to July 1 will expire on July 31, regardless of their original date of purchase. Here's another excuse to get you out of serving on a jury. The New Jersey Senate approved a bill, 38-0, that would exempt nursing mothers from jury duty. The bill was sponsored by Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz (D-Essex/Hudson) and Brian Stack (D-Hudson.)
