Storm Update: Flooding, Crashes Close NJ Roads
Following fierce storms swept through the region Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, many roadways were still flooded and wet, making for treacherous commutes Wednesday, Aug. 7.
As of 8 a.m., Route 17 north was closed in Hasbrouck Heights at Route 46 due to flooding.

A fast-moving round of thunderstorm knocked power to thousands of New Jersey residents Thursday morning, May 23.
PSEG was reporting approximately 2,000 outages in Bergen County (1,156 in New Milford, 398 in Paramus); 2,341 in Essex County (983 in Caldwell, 448 in West Caldwell); 1,230 in Gloucester County (1,206 in Woodbury City).

George Sappah paid his sister to make two youngsters under 13 available to him for sex several times, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer.
The sister, Greta Sappah, threatened the children if they didn’t comply, he said.
