Train 1110 on the Main-Bergen County line was briefly delayed following the crash just before 10:15 a.m. at the Hollywood Avenue crossing, which left the sedan severely damaged, according to incident reporter Boyd A. The SUV narrowly missed taking out a bus shelter but ran over a sign and then slammed into a tree on the highway's southbound side just past Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus shortly before 6:30 a.m. Oct. 20. SUV Mounts Route 17 Guardrail Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters wedged wooden blocks behind a back tire of an SUV that had mounted a Route 17 guardrail Friday afternoon. A young female driver got out OK and didn't appear injured -- leaving the car tipped in a precarious position -- following the single-vehicle crash on the southbound highway near Hollywood Avenue on Friday afternoon, Feb. 24. The right lane was temporarily closed while the Honda CR-V was righted and removed. Ho-Ho-Kus police were investigating.

Nasty Crash Near Route 17 Sends Two To Hospital Two people were hospitalized following a crash at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. The collision at the five corners at Sheridan and Hollywood avenues near Gilbert Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 severely damaged an SUV and a wagon. Both victims were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't immediately considered life-threatening. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters killed power to the vehicles and cleaned up a fuel spill. Ho-Ho-Kus police and EMS also responded, as did a paramedic team from Valley.
