Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say
A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said. An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said. The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.

Possible Drowning Probed At North Jersey Lake, Police Say
Police were investigating a possible drowning at a North Jersey lake over the weekend. A man in his 70s was seen entering Lake Hopatcong but never came out on Saturday, June 22, a spokesperson for the Roxbury Police Department said. The call came in just after 7:30 p.m., bringing the Roxbury Fire Department, New Jersey State Police, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office to the scene. As of Sunday, June 23 at 10 p.m., the investigation remained active, the spokesperson said.

Pedestrian Airlifted, Driver Charged In Park Ridge DWI Crash
A pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital and the driver who hit her outside a Park Ridge hotel arrested on DWI assault-by-auto charges, responders at the scene said. The 30-year-old New York woman was taken to the trauma unit at Hackensack University Medical Center after she was struck by a 2021 Ram pickup truck headed west on Brae Boulevard outside the Marriott Park Ridge shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, June 8, they said. Man Falls 14 Feet Down Butler Elevator Shaft Helping Person With Hand Stuck In Doors
A 59-year-old man remained in critical but stable condition Monday after falling through an elevator shaft in a Butler building while helping a person who had their hands stuck in the doors, authorities said. The man fell through a shaft at 10 Park Place after trying to open the elevator door for a person who had their hand stuck around 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Butler police Lt. Michael Moeller said. FedEx Driver Carjacked At Gunpoint In Linden
A FedEx truck involved in a collision in Linden Monday was taken at gunpoint, police said. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Stiles Street near Valley Road. The FedEx driver told police that someone got out of the other vehicle, pulled a gun on the driver and demanded the keys to the truck. Both vehicles were last seen heading towards Raritan Road. Skittish Kitten Rescued From GWB Traffic Available For Adoption
A kitten who was rescued from traffic on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge was available for adoption, authorities said. A motorist called GWB Port Authority Police Command station after scooping up the skittish kitty, who'd been dodging cars and other vehicles Monday afternoon, authority spokeswoman Lenis Rodrigues said. Port Authority police who retrieved the feline named her Highway, she said. They then arranged residence at the Bergen County Animal Shelter, where Highway was available for adoption, Rodrgues said Tuesday.
