One firefighter was injured in a two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in Linden on the morning of Sunday, July 14, authorities said. At 10:30 a.m., first responders were on scene at Hollywood Terrace Apartments in Linden on a report of a fire, Linden police said in a release. Firefighters were met with flames coming from the windows of both floors of the apartment on the 600 block of Academy Terrace, police said. A firefighter was taken to a local hospital and two civilians were tended to at the scene of an overnight blaze that destroyed a popular Garfield restaurant and severely damaged the apartments above it. A passerby alerted authorities to the fire that broke on the first floor of DP's Pub and Seafood Grill on River Drive shortly after 2:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, responders said. Two firefighters were hospitalized following a three-alarm fire in Jersey City on Wednesday, Sept. 6, authorities said. Firefighters observed a fire inside a vehicle located on a hydraulic lift approximately 7-feet high inside an auto repair building, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. Firefighters Douse Mahwah Basement Blaze Near Rockland Border
Firefighters battled heat exhaustion along with a basement blaze Wednesday night in Mahwah. No serious injuries were reported in the fire, which broke out shortly before 8 p.m. in the two-story home on dead-ended Storrs Court off East Crescent Road near the Rockland County border. Firefighters had the blaze knocked down within a half-hour. The cause wasn't immediately determined. Mutual aid at the scene or in coverage included firefighters from Ramsey, Wyckoff, Hillburn, Sloatsburg, Suffern and Tallman, as well as Mahwah police and EMS.
