Pedestrian Struck, Critically Injured On Route 46 A 47-year-old woman was in critical condition after she was struck by a car Monday night on Route 46, responders said. The driver of the white Nissan hatchback that hit her remained at the scene of the crash in the westbound lanes at Phillips Avenue in South Hackensack shortly before 10:30 p.m. The victim, believed to be homeless, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center. Township police, two ALS units from HUMC and a Little Ferry First Aid Corps ambulance crew quickly tended to the victim and got her to the hospital. The driver remained at the scene.
