The Hackensack resident was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center after she was hit by an 81-year-old Tappan, NY man driving a Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot of the Route 4 supermarket just after 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. A 20-year-old Rutherford man was rescued from the Palisades after he fell and was injured before dawn on Labor Day, authorities said. The victim called police from the Englewood Cliffs section of the Palisade Interstate Parkway overlooking the Hudson River at 2:12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, PIP Police Lt. Raymond Walter said. A 13-year-old girl was pulled from the municipal pool in Maywood on Labor Day, police said. A lifeguard quickly got to the drowning teen, witnesses said. A firefighter was hospitalized during a blaze Monday at a warehouse off Routes 17 and 46 in Hasbrouck Heights. The call came in around 1 p.m. Aug. 21 and followed another fire in a borough residence that was quickly extinguished with mutual aid at the scene from Little Ferry and Wood-Ridge firefighters. A couple lounging at a River Vale home were airlifted to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston late Sunday after they were burned seriously by a tiki torch that caught fire, authorities said.
