The closing of banks in China because of the coronavirus has made it more difficult for authorities to investigate a wire fraud that cost a Glen Rock medical services company $100,000. An accountant with the Harristown Road company reported receiving what appeared to be several legitimate emails from its CEO directing a wire transfer to a bank in China for international business purposes, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said Monday. Pumpkin Hurled Through Window Of Glen Rock Salon, HVAC Unit Vandalized Across Street
Someone threw a large pumpkin through the window of a Glen Rock beauty salon in one of two acts of vandalism on what had otherwise been a quiet Halloween night, authorities said. A Glen Rock resident struggled with a member of a burglary duo he found in his home Sunday night, authorities said. The Fairview Avenue resident recovered a laptop and GPS unit taken by the intruder, who ran off with an accomplice, shortly before 11 p.m., Police Chief Glen Ackermann said. Sgt. Glen Rock Police Officer Helps Ridgewood Colleagues Nab Vehicle Burglary Suspect
A man suspected of burglarizing a vehicle in Ridgewood Sunday morning was captured by a Glen Rock police officer who spotted him hiding behind a bank. A witness dialed 911 and gave village police a detailed description of a man who broke into a vehicle parked at the intersection of Passaic and South Broad streets. Darrell Rude, 32, remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending a court hearing. He’s charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Midland Park police also assisted. Boyd A. UPDATE: The trapped Hawthorne driver rescued from his car before the flames of a burning truck could reach him after a head-on crash in Glen Rock over the weekend was drunk, authorities said. A group of Glen Rock police officers snuffed flames in the engine of a truck that had just collided head-on overnight with a sedan, protecting the trapped driver of the smaller car until firefighters could arrive, video shows.
