It was a magical Monday for a lottery player in Essex County. A Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold in East Orange matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Monday, Aug. 12, winning $270,502. The ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Freeway Drive. The winning numbers were: 01, 10, 15, 18 and 43 and the XTRA number was: 02. The Bullseye number was 43.

Authorities ID Bicyclist Killed In East Orange Crash
Authorities have identified the bicyclist struck and killed by multiple vehicles in East Orange last week. Steven B. Allen, Jr., 26, of Orange, was riding on Freeway Drive and Evergreen Place when he was hit by several cars around 2 p.m., last Wednesday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and East Orange Police Director Dominick Saldida said. Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. CAR? Police Seek Help Solving 2006 Fatal Newark Hit-Run
Authorities are seeking the public’s help solving a fatal hit-and-run cold case in Newark. Police say Carey Suitt was struck and killed by a hit-and-run-driver on Freeway Drive East and South Center Street in Orange on Oct. 5, 2006. The suspect, who was driving a black 2005 GMC Envoy, fled on Hickory Street following the crash, according to witnesses.
