Gas Attendant Stole Thousands From Customers At Central Jersey Wawa: Prosecutors
A former Monmouth County gas station attendant was accused of stealing thousands of dollars from customers, authorities said. Patrick Brown, 48, of Newark, was indicted by a grand jury on 52 counts, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced in a news release on Wednesday, Apr. 24. He was charged with 13 counts each of third-degree credit card fraud, third-degree false uttering, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree credit card theft. Services have been set for Dennis John Frick, of Freehold Township, who died in a crash on Route 1 Wednesday, March 6. He was 65 years old. Visitation is on Sunday, March 10 for Dennis, who became a senior vice president with Heller Construction where he worked for 35 years, according to his obituary published by Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home. Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crosswalk Was Guyanese Swimmer
A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association. A pair of suspected COVID-19 cases were reported at a Freehold Township school. The presumed positive cases were identified at the West Freehold School, District Superintendent Neal Dickstein in a letter to parents on Thursday. Authorities: Jersey Shore Social Media Stalker Walks Free From Jail
A 26-year-old man from Neptune Township charged with stalking multiple women on social media was released from Monmouth County Jail this week on time served and good behavior, authorities said. Wayde M. Delhagen of Wayside Road pleaded guilty on Jan. 28 to burglary and four counts of stalking, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a statement. A Wall Township man drove around town shattering car windows with a slingshot, said police who arrested him. Officer Chris Mason arrested Mark Shatkus, 35, Tuesday night after he smashed the rear passenger window of one driver on Allaire Road and the front passenger window of another on Belmar Boulevard near Route 35 using steel and glass projectiles, police said Wednesday in a statement.
