Two Powerball Tickets Sold In North Jersey Win Big
It was a sensational Saturday for two Powerball players in North Jersey. Two tickets, sold in Bergen County and Somerset County respectively, matched four numbers and the red Powerball in the drawing held on Saturday, Nov. 9, winning $50,000. The tickets were sold at Stop and Shop in Franklin Park and 7-Eleven in New Milford. The winning numbers were 11, 24, 50, 56, 66 and the red Powerball was 16.

Three masked men who robbed a Paterson jewelry store of more than $1 million worth of merchandise at gunpoint last year were part of a violent East Coast crime ring that included a Washington, DC-based rapper, federal authorities said Wednesday. 16 Indicted In Crime Ring Targeting Asian-American Jewelers Across Mid-Atlantic: Feds
An indictment of 16 members of a violent mid-Atlantic crime ring has been unsealed and the federal agencies are naming names. Of the 16, eight of the alleged crime ring members were arrested in the morning on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, police in Fairfax County, Virginia announced later that day. They were all arrested in connection to a violent crime spree that took place between Jan. 7, 2022, through Jan. 27, 2023. The crime ring members were all from Maryland and the District of Columbia. Motorcyclist Robs Somerset County Bank
Authorities in Somerset County are looking for a bank robber who demanded money from multiple tellers then fled on a motorcycle. The incident happened around 2:05 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at the Chase Bank on Route 27 in Franklin Park, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. The bank tellers ultimately turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the male based on his demands and he subsequently fled the store on a motorcycle. Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Driver Suffering Medical Episode In Somerset County
A 38-year-old man was struck and killed by a driver suffering a medical episode Wednesday afternoon in Somerset County, authorities said. Harishbha Patel of Franklin Park was walking in the shoulder of South Middlebush Road near Old Vliet Road when he was struck by a 2010 Toyota Corolla around 5:40 p.m., Franklin Township Capt. Philip J. Rizzo said. Officers performed life-saving measures on Patel, who was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said. Two 30-year-old men including one from Georgia were arrested with help from the FBI in a barbershop shooting that left a 34-year-old Somerset County man dead, authorities said Thursday. Todd C. Smith, of Edison, and Tayyab A. NJ Man Admits Stealing 300 iPhones From Federal Evidence Storage
A Somerset County man admitted Monday that he stole 300 iPhones seized by federal immigration authorities by stuffing them in his pants, boots and jacket over the course of a month or so. Joel Cruz, 27, of Franklin Park, was working for a government subcontractor hired to manage property seized by Customs and Border Protection agents that was being stored in a warehouse in the Dayton section of South Brunswick.
